Risk factors and family violence

Helpline woman
The risk factors for issues such as cancer and heart disease are well known. The risk factors in family violence are not as well understood. The Government has, therefore, developed a Family Violence Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework.

The Framework includes three practical guides, case studies and checklist and was developed by independent experts and Victorian service providers.
A comprehensive training program will be implemented to assist skilled professionals such as teachers, doctors, nurses, social workers, police and court workers to provide a consistent approach to risk assessment and to ensure an early, effective and professional response.
The Family Violence Risk Management Framework (PDF 1403 kb) is broken into sections as a Word documents below.
