CALD Women's Project: Final Report
The 2005 CALD Women's Project: Final Report (PDF 1732 kb) is a research report which identifies the needs and issues facing culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women. It assessed government and community activities and identified gaps where CALD women’s needs and issues were not being adequately recognised or addressed. The insights learned from the research are being used to inform future government policies and strategies that aim to create better lives for the women of Victoria. In particular, it will inform the major policy development of the next Forward Plan for Women, 2008–2012.
Paving the Way for Older Women in the Workforce 2025 (September 2005)
Paving the Way for Older Women in the Workforce 2025 research was commissioned by Premier Steve Bracks in 2004 to look into issues surrounding older women in the workforce. For women, family commitments often mean interrupted periods of employment or precarious work arrangements. This can result in limited career advancement and lower financial security. Paving the way shows the vital role older women play in the workforce and our community as well as the importance of addressing their needs at different stages of life. Study of Reported Rapes in Victoria 2000-2003: Summary Research Report
The Study of Reported Rapes (PDF 447 kb) is the first extensive analysis of police investigations into rape offences conducted in Victoria in more than a decade. This study analyses 850 rapes reported to Victoria Police over three years and examines the rape investigations and the factors that appeared to influence the outcomes, especially where the complaint was withdrawn or the investigation did not proceed. The research also includes a focus on specific groups of victims and offenders, such as Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) and people with disabilities.
