Biblical narratives and characters retain their resonance in popular culture, particularly shaping our ideas about women, femininity and gender. Through artworks and ritual objects, this exhibition will explore interpretations of women in the Bible throughout history.

DetailsGuest speaker- Louise Fitzroy

Louise has been an ABC journalist for 4 years and has worked throughout Australia as a regional reporter. Louise was based at ABC Regional Radio in Sale and reported on the Delburn/Darlimurla and Black Saturday bushfires, and is a member of the ABC team who won a Walkley Award for coverage of the 2009 Victorian bushfires.

Louise was also a presenter at Kinglake ABC/Community Radio assisting with recovery and rebuilding, and is currently a field reporter on various ABC radio programs including the Country Hour, Breakfast Traffic with Jon Faine & Red Symons etc.

DetailsOne Just World debate series encourages the public to interact with prominent speakers, thinkers, academics, activists, policy makers, and writers on issues affecting the global poor. On International Women’s Day, One Just World will examine the role of women as agents of change.

Speakers include Jane Sloane, Executive Director of International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA), Sok Panha, Executive Director of Banteay Srei ('Citadel of Women') NGO in Cambodia, Professor Hilary Charlesworth from ANU, and moderated by Helen Szoke, Victorian Equal Opportunity Commissioner.
