Asia Pacific Breakthrough Summit 2009


Register now for Asia Pacific Breakthrough, a global summit to support women’s empowerment and social transformation.

Featuring more than 20 national and international leaders, including Thoraya Obaid (UN Under Secretary General), Sister Joan Chittister OSB (Global Peace Initiative of Women, New York), Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda (General Secretary, World YWCA), Jane Sloane (Executive Director, International Women’s Development Agency).


Women’s Leadership Grants 2010


At the 2009 Premier’s Women’s Summit held in Melbourne on 8 September, Premier John Brumby launched Victoria’s new Women’s Leadership Grants program. The Leadership Grants Program 2010 is aimed to extend and support new networks of women interested in taking up leadership roles. Applications close 30 November 2009.

Latest Edition of the Rural Women’s Network magazine ‘Beyond the Bushfires’


In this special 75th edition of network, the Rural Women’s Network honours the courage, strength and leadership of rural women across Victoria. Since the Black Saturday fires of 2009 many women are rebuilding their homes, lives and communities. Many other women are working and volunteering to help with the recovery.

October is Women and Money Month


Over 1600 women across Victoria participated in free Women and Money Month workshops and seminars. The Office of Women’s Policy is proud to coordinate Women and Money Month, aimed at raising awareness of the financial issues faced by women and helping women improve their money management skills through workshops, seminars and online information.

Victorian Women’s Register


The Victorian Women’s Register is part of the government’s commitment to ensure the membership of government boards and committees reflects the diversity of the communities they serve, and to encourage women to lead and become decision makers in the community.
